BERA Researchers Take Home Presentation Awards from the Quebec RE3 Conference

Researchers from the Boreal Ecosystem Recovery and Assessment project hosted a two-part symposium on seismic-line restoration assessment and restoration monitoring at the 2023 RE3 Conference in Québec. The symposia featured researchers from each of BERA’s four main teams, and were very well-attended by restoration practitioners and researchers from all over the world.

Two researchers from the Remote Sensing team – Tanya Yeomans and Colette Shellian – took home prestigious presentation awards. Colette won the Society for Ecological Restoration’s Melissa Berger Prize for best student oral presentation. Tanya took second place in the Best Student Oral Presentation competition. Congratulations Tanya and Colette!

This year’s RE3 (REclaim REstore REwild) was a joint conference between the Society for Ecological Restoration – Eastern Canada and the Canadian Land Reclamation Association, and took place from June 11th to 15th.
